In this pivotal role you will manage operations within a business area and maintain processes, risk management initiatives, and compliance with relevant regulators.  You will focus on supporting end-to-end execution of lending transactions, from post-sanction fulfilment through facility setup, documentation, drawdown, and ongoing servicing activities. The role focuses on delivering operational excellence, managing complex lending cases, and ensuring compliance with regulatory, legal, and internal control requirements within Barclays.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manage lending cases through the full operational lifecycle, including facility setup, documentation review, limit creation, and loan drawdowns.
  • Coordinate with Credit Mangers, Relationship Mangers, Legal, and Operations team to ensure timely completion of lending transactions.
  • Review lending requests and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with approved credit terms and internal policies.
  • Act as a key point of contact for resolving operational issues, driving cases to completion, and meeting client delivery timelines.
  • Support process improvement initiatives by identifying efficiencies, strengthening controls, and enhancing operational effectiveness.

Desirable skills set:

  • Strong knowledge of lending operations, loan lifecycle management, and post-sanction fulfilment processes.
  • Experience handling facility documentation, loan servicing, drawdowns, and collateral-related activities.
  • Strong analytical, risk assessment, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • To support Wholesale Lending with day-to-day processing, reviewing, reporting, trading and issue resolution.
  • Accountabilities
    • Support with day-to-day Wholesale Lending initiatives including processing, reviewing, reporting, trading and issue resolution through lending technical expertise.
    • Monitoring the bank’s lending operations to ensure that they are conducted in an efficient and effective manner and comply with relevant regulatory requirements.
    • Collaboration with teams across the bank to align and integrate Wholesale Lending processes.
    • Identification of areas for improvement and providing recommendations for change in Wholesale Lending processes.
    • Development and implementation of Wholesale Lending procedures and controls to mitigate risks and maintain operational efficiency.
    • Development of reports and presentations on Wholesale Lending performance and communicate findings to internal senior stakeholders.
    • Identification of industry trends and developments to implement best practice in Wholesale Lending Services.
    • Participation in projects and initiatives to improve Wholesale Lending efficiency and effectiveness.
